I have been fascinated with watching movies about the authors of well known stories. Many of our beloved classic stories were written during a time when it was expected to be proper. People did not have the modern conveniences we had today. Work was hard and there was little time for play.

The author of "Peter Pan" was a playwright with a wonderful imagination. He loved bringing play time to life. The dogbecame a dancing bear and a babysitter. The neighborhood boys became the main characters in Peter Pan. The clock eaten be the crocodile represented time that is always chasing us and ticking by.

In The Dreamer of Oz, we got to see how Frank Baum brought "The Wizard of Oz" to life. He had a daughter named Dorothy who had died. He spent years telling his boys and neighborhood children stories. People he met on the way became characters of these stories. With the encouragement of his wife, he finally penned "The Wizard of Oz".

"Alice in Wonderland" is another classic story. The author was a photographer of a well to do family. He developed a friendship with the real Alice, a little girl who loved his storytelling.
